NECRO Set To Unleash "Death Rap"

Controversial rap artist NECRO, who recently left the metal-oriented Sounds Of The Underground tour, is refocusing efforts on launching his upcoming album, "Death Rap," to be issued via Ferret Music on September 11th.

In a recent statement, the rapper said of the effort, "This is the brutalest (sic) hip-hop record that will drop this year, period. I bet your life on it."

Known for extremely violent and pornographic lyrical imagery, the Brooklyn, NY-based rapper is also notorious for recording with prominent heavy metal musicians.

A record release party is scheduled for Sept. 12th at the Gramercy Theatre in the Manhattan borough of New York City. NYHC heroes Madball will appear in support.

Can EMINEM Fans Wait Until 2008?

There has been speculation recently that Eminem is set to release a new album by the end of 2007, with the appearance of a new website fueling rumours - however, the rapper's record company continue to deny that an album is due for release.

Eminem, who's real name is Marshall Mathers, hasn't released a full album of material since 2004's 'Encore', and was expected to release his next album, rumored to be called 'King Mathers', by years end.

A new website - www.kingmathers.com - appeared with a photo of Mathers and text saying, "Guess who's coming back?.. The first new studio album in more than 2 years coming soon."

Dennis Dennehy, the rapper's publicist, said, "There is no Eminem album on any release schedule."

HARD-FI Rides Into Town With New Record

Necessary/Atlantic recording group Hard-Fi has unveiled details of their eagerly anticipated second album. Entitled "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST," the 11-track collection arrives in the U.S. on September 18th.

The album - which follows last year's breakthrough debut, "STARS OF CCTV" - sees the British band returning with a fully loaded arsenal of category-defying pop grenades, melding genre-hopping beats, Motown hooks, and rock 'n' roll swagger into its own indefinable, undeniable sound. "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST" is highlighted by the Billy Bragg-inspired "We Need Love," the rousing "Can't Get Along Without You," and the anthemic first single, "Suburban Knights," which NME recently hailed as a "startling" example of "a more dexterous and inventive Hard-Fi."

"Before we started the LP, I wanted to make something that sounded dark, atmospheric with elements of the Clash and Stones," says Hard-Fi frontman Richard Archer, "and we've really f***ing nailed that. On the whole it's deeper, darker, and more expansive. 'STARS ON CCTV' was switch it on, turn it up - this has more room to breathe."

Recorded in the band's converted taxi-office studio in Staines, "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST" was co-produced by Archer and Wolsey White. The album was mixed by Mark "Spike" Stent, known for his work with the likes of U2, Madonna, Björk, Oasis, and Maroon 5.
