PEARL JAM Concert Censored By AT&T

Pearl Jam

In a move that representatives of AT&T claim was unintentional, rockers Pearl Jam were censored during a weekend broadcast of the band's performance at Lollapalooza.

As the group played a cover version of "Another Brick I The Wall" by Pink Floyd, singer Ed Vedder changed the lyrics to say "George Bush, leave this world alone."

The telecommunications company removed the interjection, claiming the censorship was the fault of an outside contractor utilized to edit profanity from live broadcasts.

Pearl Jam has countered the move with a statement defending net neutrality that can be found here.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Covers Dio Classic

Killswitch Engage

HEAR YE, HEAR YE: Roadrunner Records Royal subjects Killswitch Engage of Springfield, MA present herewith a theatrical debut: a classic pantomime of "Holy Diver," its origins based in neighbouring province Portsmouth, NH penned by decorated yeoman Ronnie James Dio. Master drama instructor Brian Thompson (ye olde video director) humbly invites members of the Royal Court to enjoy his lively interpretation of the epic prose.

THE CAST:
FAIR MAIDEN : ADAM DUTKIEWICZ
IRONSMITH : HOWARD JONES
HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS: JUSTIN FOLEY
ADORNED KNIGHT: MIKE D'ANTONIO
NECROMANCER: JOEL STROETZEL

Ladies and Gentlemen of the court, make haste to your seats, and heed the tale of the Adorned Knight (Mike D'Antonio), as he returns, fresh from battle, to find his Fair Maiden (Adam Dutkiewicz) under the death-like spell of an evil necromancer (Joel Stroetzel)! His Royal Highness (Justin Foley) and celebrated kinsmen: among them sergeants of law, millers, yeomen and friars alike raise goblets and dine on freshly slaughtered beast as thein Armour-Clad hero gallops forth into the eve...to fight spirits and forces unbeknownst, with hopes to release his betrothed from such black and unnatural alchemy. Eyes will refrain to blink as the sorcerer commands by ways of his all-seeing orb, and travels light as zephyr through the wood! Breeth will be held; gasps heard as the castle's Rogue Ironsmith (Howard Jones) skulks whenceforth in the darkness of the dungeon, pensively waiting, with haste. Blood will be spilled anon, but who shall be slain?

Over 300,000 legions of commoners and peasants have been clamoring the castle walls in hopes of catching a glimpse of "Holy Diver." The Royal Brigade has been ordered to ensure the ramparts hold, and with brute force send them back into pestilence with a proclamation decreed herein:

Alas, on the second fortnight of the eighth month of our lunar calendar (August 28th, 2007), a special edition of As Daylight Dies, Killswitch Engage's musical masterpiece, will enter shoppes and vendorplaces. Additional arias include "Be One," "Let The Bridges Burn," "This Fire" and "Holy Diver." A visual component will accompany the musical compositions: "My Curse," "The Arms of Sorrow" and the aforementioned "Holy Diver" (unavailable elsewhere, save for a personal invitation to a performance by His Highness), as well as documented rehearsal of "My Curse" and "The Arms of Sorrow."

Can EMINEM Fans Wait Until 2008?

There has been speculation recently that Eminem is set to release a new album by the end of 2007, with the appearance of a new website fueling rumours - however, the rapper's record company continue to deny that an album is due for release.

Eminem, who's real name is Marshall Mathers, hasn't released a full album of material since 2004's 'Encore', and was expected to release his next album, rumored to be called 'King Mathers', by years end.

A new website - www.kingmathers.com - appeared with a photo of Mathers and text saying, "Guess who's coming back?.. The first new studio album in more than 2 years coming soon."

Dennis Dennehy, the rapper's publicist, said, "There is no Eminem album on any release schedule."

HARD-FI Rides Into Town With New Record

Necessary/Atlantic recording group Hard-Fi has unveiled details of their eagerly anticipated second album. Entitled "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST," the 11-track collection arrives in the U.S. on September 18th.

The album - which follows last year's breakthrough debut, "STARS OF CCTV" - sees the British band returning with a fully loaded arsenal of category-defying pop grenades, melding genre-hopping beats, Motown hooks, and rock 'n' roll swagger into its own indefinable, undeniable sound. "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST" is highlighted by the Billy Bragg-inspired "We Need Love," the rousing "Can't Get Along Without You," and the anthemic first single, "Suburban Knights," which NME recently hailed as a "startling" example of "a more dexterous and inventive Hard-Fi."

"Before we started the LP, I wanted to make something that sounded dark, atmospheric with elements of the Clash and Stones," says Hard-Fi frontman Richard Archer, "and we've really f***ing nailed that. On the whole it's deeper, darker, and more expansive. 'STARS ON CCTV' was switch it on, turn it up - this has more room to breathe."

Recorded in the band's converted taxi-office studio in Staines, "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST" was co-produced by Archer and Wolsey White. The album was mixed by Mark "Spike" Stent, known for his work with the likes of U2, Madonna, Björk, Oasis, and Maroon 5.
